Lead Residential Installer

Location:  Northern California/Southern California as assigned

Classification: Hourly, Non-exempt

Reports to: Director of Residential Installation 

Job Description:

The Lead PV Installer will be responsible for directly overseeing photovoltaic system installation from beginning to end.  In this position, the Lead PV Installer will coordinate with customers, supervise on site crew members, install all photovoltaic system components and electrical equipment, fill out all system documentation, and ensure successful operation of complete photovoltaic system, while proficiently communicating and updating project status with operations management staff.

This position will require travel and may require overnight travel, based on the location of projects within the region. The company will provide accommodations for travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs all roof work including, but not limited to layouts, penetrations, feet, rails, etc.
  • Start to finish Install of Monitoring Systems: Web Box, Fat Spaniel, Weather Hawk, etc.
  • AC&DC wiring
  • Responsible for all site photographs
  • Organize, lead, and train crews to complete projects within established policies and procedures
  • Complete projects within strict timeframes and allowed budgets
  • Maintain high levels of quality assurance and quality control with an emphasis on crew safety
  • Assemble the solar array racking, properly seal all roof penetrations, and install all relative equipment
  • Competently delegate work amongst crew and resolve potential crew issues
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions and operational issues
  • Communicate with customers in a professional, considerate, and respectful manner, answering all questions and complaints to the best of your ability
  • All other duties as assigned

 

Educational, professional and/or other requirements:

  • More than a year of previous solar installation experienced required
  • NABCEP Certification Preferred
  • Must have electrical and or roofing experience
  • Experience complying with OHSA safety requirements and regulations
  • OSHA 30 Card
  • Must have full range or mobility in upper and lower body; ability to work in various positions and environments
  • Ability to lift, pull and push materials and equipment safely weighing approximately 50 pounds on a frequent basis
  • Great attention to detail
  • Good Attendance
  • Ability to work in extreme environments (example: hot sun, cold)
  • Must be willing and able to climb ladders, stairs and work on rooftops
  • Ability to deal with multiple issues
  • Ability to train across a diverse audience
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exercises a high level of professionalism and a positive demeanor
  • Must have a clean driving record
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to innovate and improve operations and solve complex problems
  • Thrive in a team environment
  • High integrity, IQ and energy a must!
